A large focus will be placed on event mechanics and developing event specific capacities. High School Pole Vault: High School aged athletes will build on their experiences with pole vault and develop event specific mechanics needed for successful, injury-free pole vaulting.

Emphasis will be placed on runway and take-off mechanics. These skills are the gateway to participation in all sports and recreational activities. These camps also introduce kids to core track and field events, all through playing games and having fun!

These skills will be developed primarily through the playing of games. Kids will also be introduced to sprinting, long jump and shot put. Level 2 - years old: This group will start introducing sport-specific track and field skills and become more familiar with track and field events.

Athletes are introduced to the fundamentals of the throwing events. Emphasis will be placed on Shot put and Discus. These events are not offered in High School.

Learning these throwing events is a great way to distinguish yourself to potential college coaches. Open to athletes of all ages.

The Calvin men's track and field team has once again received the All-Academic Team Award Full Story. Calvin has an NCAA Division III athletics program, and Calvin student-athletes rise to national recognition on a regular basis. Calvin has been in the top ten NCAA finishers more than times. The famous rivalry between Calvin and nearby Hope College has been recognized as a national phenomenon in Sports Illustrated, ESPN, and The New York.

Monday-Thursday, July 30 - August 2, 1: Athletes will learn the event specific mechanics needed for successful injury free Sprinting. Also a great option for non-track athletes wanting to develop speed.

Athletes are introduced to the fundamentals of the Jumping events. Emphasis will be placed on Long Jump and High Jump.the professional communication track prepares students for jobs in advertising, public relations, fund raising and event planning the rhetoric track trains to student for jobs in communication consulting, law, politics, ministry and academia.
